Seb is 2! - Picnic Birthday Party

For Seb's second birthday, I wanted to take advantage that he is a summer baby. So I really wanted to do something outdoors. OF course, our garden was not going to do it. So we chose a park. It was in an enclosed baby play area. So that will keep the kids in. Cafe and toilets were just a few steps away and there was car parking. All the makings of a great party.

My original idea was to have a sort of fun fair theme with games, but it turned into more of a sports day event.

For food I ordered a few platters of sandwiches, made pasta, mini egg quiche and Pimms. Had some questionable beer. Sorry everyone, this is what happens when you let someone who doesn't drink choose your tipple. Kids had mini rolls, crudités, fruit and juice boxes.

For dessert, we had ice cream cones from the Cafe. I made little ice cream vouchers for everyone to redeem at the cafe.

We didn't do a cake as I was unsure of how it would last in the heat, but we had cupcakes by Happy Little Baker. Her cakes are out of this world. You can check her Facebook page here.  I had them kept cool in a cool bag with a few ice packs. That kept the icing from going off.

For entertainment, we played bean bag toss, egg and spoon race, sack race and the three-legged race. I was quite surprised that Harvey was into it. Although he liked winning a bit too much. Holding his egg to the spoon as he raced to the finish line.

For Party Favours, we did a lucky dip. Each little person won a prize. I think it worked well. It was fun and I loved seeing their little faces light up as I produced their prizes. They were wowed. Thank you Poundland.

As you can probably see there are no photos of Seb at his OWN party. I was too busy running the party when I should have been looking after Seb. Don't forget to have fun! I always forget. So after the party we had a picnic dinner and took some photos of the birthday boy. And I am in them too!

If you want a I'm 2 let's party t-shirt you can download the image for free on my post here. Enjoy!

We had bunting, cake, booze and bubbles. So I would say it was a success.
