On our first date at the OXO tower. Talking about how many kids we wanted. 1 boy 1 girl. Steve and I had no idea what the future really held for us. Fast forward 7 years and here we are with 2 gorgeous boys.
For the past 2 years I have watched my boys grow and develop a brother's relationship. They are now at the stage of really interacting with each other. Playing and having conversations. All my worries about them not bonding have disappeared.
Seb loves Harvey so much. He is like a little puppy following Harvey everywhere. Copying everything Harvey does. But with this comes problems too. With Seb wanting everything Harvey has and vice versa. That is why er we now have two massive Peppa Pig Camper van toys rolling around the house. :(
And to make sure Steve and I give equal attention to each of the boys, we try to spend time alone with each of them. Sometimes I feel Harvey needs time away from Seb. I am sure this will be more prominent when they develop their own personalities as they grow.
If I get nothing right as a mum. As long as they know that they are loved I think I have done a good job.I know they will look out for each other after Steve and I are long gone. But 2 does feel a bit lonely. Maybe 3 or 4? Don't tell Steve. He would have a heart attack!

Aww this is lovely! I would love that my 2 girls have the same bonding than yours. My eldest one is 5 and the second one is 10 months so there is a 4 year gap plus the little one still can't interact with her sister as much but I'm really looking forward for those moments to come! Thanks for sharing such a lovely photo, x #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteAww how lovely. I love sibling bonds. There will be quite an age gap if we have another baby and I really hope that doesn't an effect on any bonding. Love that your first date was the oxo tower too! How fancy! thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
