Sometimes Harvey likes to use mini tongs to pick up his food but it is still to big to eat with. So I made my own trainer chopsticks. They don't look great but they do the trick :D

You can control the resistant by making it tight/loose at the top
|
All you need is 2 popsicle sticks, small rubber band (in my case I cut up a balloon), and anything that will act as a pivot (here I used a crayon).
Hold the crayon 1/4 of the way down between the 2 sticks. Position the band around the stick and (under) the crayon.

Putting Harvey to the test. It is great for colour sorting fun!

What a brilliant idea! You are very creative x
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I can't use chopsticks so should make some for myself.
ReplyDeleteI need them for me, I am hopeless with chopsticks.... and not much better with a fork - thank god I have kids to blame the messy stains on... ;)
ReplyDeleteClever idea! Will be trying that next time we have noodles!
ReplyDeleteI can't use chopsticks myself because of poor fine motor skills, so maybe these are an idea for me.
ReplyDeleteYou are so inventive! What a sweet idea.
ReplyDeleteI got great children's chopsticks for Aaron when we ate at Wagamamas. Sadly we only got two (1) for his meal whilst there and (2) a second set for the doggy bag we took home. They both went in the bin because they were disposable but he REALLY enjoyed using them and they were very similar to what you have made here.

What a great idea! I probably need these myself!x
ReplyDeleteA really cute idea. Great to improve their pincer grasp.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea :) The girls used to have some Tom and Jerry ones they got from McDonald's I think and they used to love using them to sort beads!
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant. We have some that I bought from Amazon which my kids love using - I love the idea of making your own though!
ReplyDeleteThats a fab idea - so clever x x
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice and creative idea!
ReplyDeleteNow i can only imagine all the things which an be picked up with those :-)
You're so clever! Ethan has some of the trainer ones, but you're right, they're so long that he can't get the hang of it. We'll have to get Harvey to show Ethan his skills :)
